About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Pacific Air Forces, through the 673d Contracting Squadron at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson (JBER), Alaska, has published a Notice of Intent to Award a single-source contract to Safe Roof Systems, Inc. for a Safe Roof System. This is not a request for quotes or solicitation, but rather an informational notice regarding the government's intent to award a firm fixed-price contract under FAR Part 12 for commercial products and services using simplified acquisition procedures. The contract will be awarded to Safe Roof Systems, Inc., located in Mattapoisett, Massachusetts, with Unique Entity ID U6CKLJSBZFA7. The procurement involves acquiring a roof monitoring system for Building 4241 at JBER that must integrate with existing equipment using the MODBUS RTU protocol.
The purpose of this notice is to inform potential contractors of the government's intent to proceed with a single-source award while providing an opportunity for other vendors to demonstrate their capabilities. Interested firms may submit capability statements of no more than 5 pages by July 21, 2025, demonstrating their experience specific to this procurement, business size, ability to perform the work, and capacity to meet the government's requirements. Written inquiries are accepted while oral communications are not permitted. The system requirements include sensors for roof structural member deflection monitoring, control panels, field wire installation, 22 deflection sensors, documentation, training, and associated logistics costs. The government's justification indicates that alternative vendors cannot provide compatible systems, and overseas manufacturers present potential security risks, though the government will continue market surveys for future alternatives.
