About this opportunity

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has posted a Special Notice for a sole source contract for "Radiation Protection Advancing Patient Safety". The FDA intends to award a firm-fixed price purchase order to the National Council on Radiation Protection and Measurements (NCRP) under the authority of FAR Part 6, which allows for sole source procurement when there is only one responsible source.

The purpose of this contract is to procure up to six well-sourced and consensus-based scientific analysis, reports, recommendations, and communication products on radiation safety to inform regulatory decision making and policy development for both radiological medical devices and radiation emitting electronic products. The contract will have a base year and two option years, with two reports required in each year. Responses to this notice are due by September 8, 2024, but this is not a request for competitive quotes. Any other firms interested in the requirement must submit a capability statement to determine if they can meet the requirements, though the government has sole discretion in deciding whether to compete the procurement.
