About this opportunity
The Federal Bureau of Investigation's Redstone Arsenal Field Office has issued a Notice of Intent to procure replacement parts for REMOTEC Robots, specifically the model F6B and Spartan variants. This Special Notice announces the FBI's intention to negotiate a sole source, firm fixed price contract with REMOTEC, Inc., the sole manufacturer and distributor of these proprietary robot components. The procurement is being conducted without competitive bidding under Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, which permits sole source contracting when a single source is the only responsible supplier. The notice is posted on the federal contracting portal and represents a one-time procurement requirement driven by normal usage and wear and tear on the FBI's existing equipment. REMOTEC, Inc. is located at 353 JD Yarnell Industrial Parkway in Clinton, Tennessee.
Interested parties have until March 15, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. Central Time to submit statements of interest and capabilities regarding their ability to supply these replacement parts, with submissions required via email only to Contracting Officer Emily York at eyork@fbi.gov. The government will evaluate all submissions solely to determine whether a competitive procurement should be conducted instead of the proposed sole source award. While the notice does not explicitly restrict participation, the proprietary nature of the REMOTEC components and the sole source justification suggest that only REMOTEC, Inc. possesses the capability to supply the required parts. The government reserves the right to proceed with either competitive or non-competitive procurement based on the submissions received and its discretionary determination. This Notice of Intent provides potential contractors with an opportunity to challenge the sole source determination or demonstrate their capability to compete for the contract requirement.
