Notice text
This synopsis is hereby issued in accordance with FAR Part 5.203 and FAR 13.501(a) in response to the mandatory requirement for a 15 day notification. The purpose of this synopsis is to announce the Food and Drug Administration's intent to negotiate a Firm Fixed Price sole source order with Illumina, Inc., located at 5200 Illumina Way, San Diego, CA 92122 for service agreement for a NextSeq 500.
The Food and Drug Administration's (FDA) Office of Biotechnology Products considers biomarkers and quality bioassays to inform regulatory decision making. The next generation sequencing instrument currently used by the Government analyzes DNA, RNA, and DNA-protein interactions. A maintenance service contract ensures reliability and reduces potential downtime.
Only one source, Illumina, Inc., the OEM, is capable of fulfilling this requirement. Illumina does not authorize third party intermediaries to provide the Illumina products required for the intended service agreement. Under this agreement, the Government intends to have all parts, labor, and travel included, as well as reagent replacement upon hardware failures, one (1) annual preventative maintenance visit per year, remote technical support, an on-site response time of two (2) business days, control software and hardware updates, and on-site application support.
The Government anticipates award one (1) base year period, and four(4) additional option periods totaling 5 years if all options are exercised.
The anticipated dollar value of this purchase (inclusive of options) is: $159,120.00
THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS, however, interested firms may submit a capability statement in response to the above requirement with pricing information by April 4th, 2019 @ 4:30 PM Local Time to Christopher McGucken, Contract Specialist, Phone: (240) 402-7566, Email: Christopher.McGucken@fda.hhs.gov.
