About this opportunity
The Department of the Army Corps of Engineers Engineering District New York has issued a Special Notice regarding a modification to an existing construction contract for Lincoln Hall Renovation at the United States Military Academy in West Point, NY. The notice concerns the installation of additional Wireless Access Points (WAPs) within the ongoing renovation project of Building 607. The contract modification is specifically for Contract W912DS23C0025, with an estimated cost of $200,000 for the wireless infrastructure enhancement. The special notice was posted on February 20, 2025, with a response deadline of March 7, 2025, and falls under the Commercial and Institutional Building Construction NAICS category. The opportunity is not set aside for any specific type of contractor.
The primary objective of this special notice is to inform potential contractors of the government's intent to modify the existing construction contract to include WAP system installation. The government plans to award the modification to the current Lincoln Hall renovation contractor to minimize operational disruptions and reduce additional coordination and overhead costs. The modification will involve installing head-end equipment, cabling, devices, and amplifiers as detailed in the telecommunication specifications. Equipment will either be relocated from existing systems or newly provided by the government, with installation performed by the contractor. The government considers this approach beneficial because the current contractor is already familiar with the project site, has administrative staff onsite, and has established laydown areas. Contractors interested in this opportunity should carefully review the telecommunication plans and specifications associated with the Lincoln Hall Renovation project.
