About this opportunity
This Special Notice from the Department of the Army Materiel Command Army Contracting Command Aberdeen Proving Ground concerns a sole source contract award. Specifically, ACC-APG is contemplating awarding a sole source contract to Smiths Detection Inc. for the production of the Joint Chemical Agent Detector Solid Liquid Adapter (JCAD SLA).
The JCAD SLA will serve as an additional authorized list item to the M4A1 JCAD to detect explosives, pharmaceutical-based compounds, and advanced threats in both solid and liquid form. The requirement also includes testing support, program management, systems engineering, training activities, obsolescence management, and product support. ACC-APG contemplates this sole source award due to proprietary data and software rights and the need to integrate the SLA as an additional authorized list item. While this notice is not a request for proposals, members of industry who believe they can meet the requirements including production, testing, configuration, and integration with the existing M4A1 JCAD may provide a capability statement to the listed contracting officers by the August 30th deadline.
