About this opportunity

The Department of Health and Human Services National Institutes of Health Clinical Center is seeking to procure a cell-free DNA extraction kit and associated supplies to support the Laboratory of Applied Precision Omics' research protocols investigating the use of cell-free DNA for detecting and diagnosing organ transplant rejection. The key requirements include the ability to isolate nucleic acids, including cell-free DNA, genomic DNA, and mitochondrial DNA, for use in next-generation sequencing analyses. The agency is interested in capabilities related to high-throughput automation of the process using the QIAsymphony SP instrument and DSP Circulating DNA kit. Interested parties may respond to this pre-solicitation notice by May 13, 2024, to indicate their interest and capabilities.

This pre-solicitation notice does not include a set-aside designation. The agency has not provided any information about potential incumbents or the anticipated award value. The quantity required includes 6 kits, 4 sample tubes, and 8 filter tips.

Purpose:

A significant increase in circulating cell-free donor-derived DNA can be detected up to

five months before acute rejection can be diagnosed an invasive biopsy. To determine

donor-derived DNA, the genotyping procedure is essential. Laboratory of Applied

Precision Omics on the potential uses of cell free DNA technology requires the use of

QIAGEN’s high throughput automation process on the QiaSymphony SP, 34311 with the

DSP Circulating DNA kit to isolate nucleic acids

Scope of Work:

Next generation sequencing of cell-free DNA, genomic DNA, and mitochondrial DNA are among the nucleic acids of interest which are required for answering the primary and secondary endpoints of the Genome Transplant Dynamics study. Numerous intramural investigators have contacted the Laboratory of Transplantation Genomics regarding a mutual interest in investigating questions surrounding detection, diagnosis, and clinical utility of solid and liquid organ transplant rejection alike.

The laboratory of applied precision omics requires the purchase of Qiagen’s QIAsymphony DSP Circulation DNA Kit for processing patient samples by epMotion 5075 to automate the process of NGS library construction for 5 extramural-site research protocol which targets heart and lung transplant recipients. To determine cell-free DNA to risk stratify patients for severe COVID-19 and donor-derived DNA, the genotyping procedure and qualification of DNA is essential for high throughput automation of NGS library, and sensitive for cell free DNA.
