About this opportunity
This Special Notice is published by the Department of Energy's Western Area Power Administration (WAPA). WAPA intends to issue a sole source order to Southern States of Georgia for interrupter parts. This is in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Section 13.5 for simplified acquisitions, as WAPA requires 4-Interrupter Assemblies, 4-Hinge Assemblies, 4-Blade Assemblies, 4-Jaw Assemblies, 3-48VDC Shunt Trips, and 1-Motor Operator to repair an interrupter that lost SF6 gas, causing an emergency customer outage. WAPA is limiting competition to Southern States as the sole provider of the proprietary Siemens parts.
Any vendors that believe they can provide the stated requirements may submit supporting documents demonstrating their capability and past performance. WAPA will use the responses received for future acquisitions. The deadline for submissions is October 28, 2024. This Special Notice is under NAICS code 335931 - Current-Carrying Wiring Device Manufacturing.
