About this opportunity
The Department of Agriculture Forest Service is seeking road repair and maintenance services for the Tongass National Forest, specifically in the Thorne Bay Ranger District near Coffman Cove on Prince of Wales Island in Southeast Alaska. The pre-solicitation notice indicates a blanket purchase agreement (BPA) call request for road construction services, which will include road reconstruction, landslide debris removal, aggregate hauling and placement, culvert installation, and drainage system maintenance. This opportunity is being issued under an existing BPA, and the agency is not looking to add new contractors at this time. The government has not explicitly detailed evaluation criteria in the notice, though the project appears focused on infrastructure rehabilitation and maintenance. The pre-solicitation was posted on April 17, 2025, signaling the initial phase of the procurement process.
The contract is designated as a total small business set-aside, targeting small businesses within the Highway, Street, and Bridge Construction NAICS category (237310). The estimated contract value ranges between $100,000 and $250,000, suggesting a moderate-scale infrastructure project. The project will be performed within the Forest Service Region 10 (Alaska), specifically targeting road infrastructure in a remote southeastern Alaskan location. While the notice does not specify precise service quantities or exact timelines, it implies a comprehensive road repair and maintenance effort focusing on critical transportation infrastructure in the Tongass National Forest region. The procurement appears structured through an existing blanket purchase agreement, which suggests potential ongoing or repeat service requirements for road maintenance in this challenging geographic area.
