About this opportunity
The United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) is seeking to procure a non-standard maritime vessel for use in Nome, Alaska during August 2025. The vessel must be an ocean-going trawler-styled motor yacht at least 25 meters in length, capable of accommodating ten passengers and meeting specific operational requirements. Key specifications include having station keeping capabilities, bow thrusters, an enclosed bridge, separate staterooms, and a mast or superstructure able to mount approximately 80-pound emitters. The vessel must be fully fueled, fully functioning, and available for pickup in Nome, with 24-hour accessibility from August 2-15, 2025. While specific evaluation criteria are not detailed in the pre-solicitation notice, the requirements suggest a comprehensive assessment of the vessel's technical capabilities, operational readiness, and suitability for maritime missions.
The contract opportunity is not designated with any specific set-aside status, indicating it is open to all qualified contractors in the Boat Building (NAICS 336612) and Small Craft (PSC 1940) categories. The vessel must provide continuous pier space access, shore power, and demonstrate the ability to conduct rapid fueling, defueling, and supply loading operations. Additional requirements include maintaining the vessel's operational status and providing maintenance if needed during the specified period. While no specific award value or budget range is mentioned, the detailed technical specifications and specialized maritime requirements suggest this will be a significant procurement. The pre-solicitation notice was posted on April 22, 2025, with responses due by April 30, 2025, signaling a relatively tight timeline for potential contractors to prepare and submit their proposals.
