About this opportunity

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) has issued a Special Notice for the sole source acquisition of pigtailed macaques, a type of non-human primate. The notice indicates the NIH intends to award a firm-fixed-price purchase order to Johns Hopkins University Research Animal Resources, as they are the only known responsible source that can provide the required animals.

The purpose of this acquisition is to expedite the ordering of non-human primates to support ongoing research projects and maintain uninterrupted support for intramural investigators. The acquisition is time-critical due to the urgent need for the animals and the limited supply meeting the required research specifications. The NIH is seeking information from any other parties that believe they can provide the required non-human primates, and responses are due by 9:00 AM EST on August 30, 2024. Eligible contractors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) prior to award. The government will determine if the requirement should be competed based on the responses received, and the anticipated award date is approximately 5 days after the notice, unless another capable source is identified.
