About this opportunity

The Federal Aviation Administration Logistics Center (FAALC) has issued a Notice of Intent to procure parts for Remote Video Surveillance System Legacy (RVSS-L) towers through single source procedures. The procurement supports Customs and Border Protection (CBP) operations across five Texas border sectors: El Paso, Big Bend, Del Rio, Laredo, and Rio Grande Valley. The agency intends to acquire the necessary components from the Original Equipment Manufacturer, Eon Instrumentation, Inc., located in Van Nuys, California. This Special Notice falls under the Department of Transportation's Federal Aviation Administration Franchise Acquisition Services and was posted on September 12, 2025. The procurement is classified under NAICS code 334511 for navigation and detection system manufacturing and PSC code 5855 for night vision equipment.

The primary objective of this procurement is to obtain controllers and parts essential for operating and controlling power and camera commands for the RVSS-L surveillance systems positioned along the Texas border. Due to manufacturer specifications, the FAA has determined that single source procedures are appropriate, limiting eligibility to Eon Instrumentation as the OEM with SAM identifier MDWHM4HLUPH1. Interested parties have until September 16, 2025, to respond to this notice. The procurement aims to ensure successful operation of surveillance equipment that supports CBP's border security mission. Eon Instrumentation will provide all required parts to enable the FAA to complete this critical infrastructure maintenance effort. This represents a targeted acquisition focused on maintaining existing surveillance capabilities rather than establishing new programs or initiatives.
