About this opportunity

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) within the Department of Health and Human Services has issued a Special Notice to award a sole source firm fixed-price contract to The General Hospital Corporation. This follow-on contract is for the development, finalization, and implementation of Electronic Health Record (EHR) algorithms to provide routine estimates of Lyme Disease (LD) incidence and LD outcomes, and to monitor trends in LD epidemiology.

The purpose of this Special Notice is to justify awarding this contract to The General Hospital Corporation without full and open competition, citing the authority under 41 U.S.C. 3304. The contract will have a 12-month base period and a 12-month option period, starting on 09/30/2024. The key tasks include implementing the SubLyme network protocol, exploring data elements for clinical manifestation monitoring, proposing research study protocols, and preparing for Lyme disease vaccine impact studies. The CDC has determined that The General Hospital Corporation is the only responsible source that can satisfy the agency's requirements, as significant start-up efforts, experience, and knowledge sharing have already occurred with the current network participants. Interested parties have 15 days to submit their interest and capabilities to the contract specialist.
