About this opportunity
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service seeks removal of existing CAT 3 cabling and installation of new CAT 6a ethernet cabling across five buildings at the Southwestern Native Aquatic Resources and Recovery Center in Dexter, New Mexico, with quotations due May 18, 2026 by 5:00 PM EST. This is a Total Small Business set-aside.
Place of performance is Dexter, New Mexico. The work encompasses approximately 26 network ports distributed across five buildings: 14 ports in the main internet source building, 3 in Fish Culture, 5 in Fish Health Office, 2 in Virology/Necropsy, and 2 in Maintenance. The period of performance runs from May 25, 2026 through November 24, 2026. Deliverables include network diagrams, port inventory documentation, cable labeling per established standards, and a LAN Room Cat6 Cable Test Report demonstrating CAT 6a compliance and network connectivity verification.
Technical requirements mandate compliance with TIA-568-C standards, proper grounding and bonding per TIA-607-B, conduit sizing and installation requirements, and detailed testing and certification to ANSI/TIA/EIA568C.0 transmission performance specifications. Contractors must conduct a comprehensive site survey, develop detailed network maps, and provide as-built drawings within 30 days of completion. Government-furnished equipment includes a Cisco C9200L switch, three Meraki MR36 Wi-Fi 6 access points, PoE injectors, antennas, LTU radios, and an MS 130 switch.
Quotations must be firm-fixed price and remain valid for 60 days from submission. Evaluation criteria weight technical approach and understanding of the Statement of Work (Factor 1) and past performance with similar projects (Factor 2) more heavily than price (Factor 3). Award will be made to the responsible vendor offering best value. Site visits are available Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM to 4:00 PM, through May 4, 2026. Questions are due May 4, 2026 by 12:00 PM EST.
