About this opportunity
The Department of Health and Human Services, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Office of Acquisition Services intends to issue a Request for Quotations (RFQ) for commercial waste removal and recycling services at three National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) facilities located in Cincinnati, Ohio. The resultant firm-fixed price contract will have a base period of 12 months and four 12-month option periods. The contractor will provide all waste disposal and single-stream recycling services, including dumpster placement and pickup schedules. Interested offerors must submit their small business size status by September 13, 2024, and the RFQ is expected to be released in mid-September 2024.
This contract opportunity is expected to be set aside for small businesses under NAICS code 562111, Solid Waste Collection, with a $47 million size standard. The government anticipates this will be a 100% small business set-aside, and the overall objective is to establish a separate waste and recycling services contract for the NIOSH Cincinnati facilities, as the existing operations and maintenance contract will no longer include these services.
