About this opportunity

The Department of Health and Human Services National Institutes of Health Office of Logistics and Acquisition Operations published this Limited/Sole Source Justification Notice to extend the ordering period for the NIH Business and Professional Support Services III (BPSS III) multiple-award IDIQ contracts by 12 months through August 12, 2026. The contracts provide essential business and professional support services across eight key areas including financial accounting policies, acquisition lifecycle support, business process improvement, program planning, policy development, human resources solutions, communications, and system integration to support NIH's Intramural Research Program across multiple Institutes and Centers. The justification cites the need to ensure continuity of critical services without interruption while a follow-on contract is being processed and awarded. The extension applies to 33 contractors including major firms such as Accenture Federal Services, Booz Allen Hamilton, and Deloitte Consulting, though specific vendor award amounts are not disclosed. This zero-dollar extension maintains the existing contract ceiling values unchanged while allowing continued task order placement for essential services that enable scientific resource sharing across NIH facilities.

Notice text

The purpose of this justification is to extend the ordering period for multiple-award Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contracts under the NIH Business and Professional Support Services (BPSSIII) program for a total of 12 months by extending the ordering period of the current IDIQ portfolio. The total ceiling value of these contracts remains unchanged. The new ordering period would be extended through August 12, 2026.

This zero-dollar extension is necessary to ensure continuity of essential services that will enable multiple Institutes and Centers (I/C) of the NIH Intramural Research Program to share scientific resources across the NIH. This procurement is integral in ensuring there are no gaps in service while a follow-on contract is processed and awarded.

Awarded contract Multiple to unknown vendor for unknown amount on 2025-08-13.
