About this opportunity
The Department of the Interior Bureau of Land Management National Interagency Fire Center is seeking to procure seven (7) new 40'x8.5' heavy-duty commercial grade dry freight box van trailers specifically designed for fire support and supply delivery throughout the western United States. These NIFC Dry Freight Box CACHE Van Trailers must meet detailed specifications including a gross vehicle weight rating of 65,000 lbs, DOT compliance, LED lighting, aluminum walk-ramp, white exterior with composite aluminum sidewalls and roof, hardwood flooring, and must be branded with BLM and NIFC logos along with specific graphics and unique identifier tags (GBK-21 through GBK-27). The solicitation utilizes a low-price technically acceptable (LPTA) source selection method with two evaluation factors: Technical Acceptability and Price, where offerors must provide product literature, warranty details, and a narrative explaining their approach to meeting graphics requirements along with firm-fixed-price quotes. This Request for Quote (RFQ 140L3725Q0119) was posted on August 29, 2025, with quotes due on September 9, 2025, and delivery required within 150 days after contract award to the NIFC facility in Boise, Idaho.
This procurement is structured as a 100% small business set-aside under NAICS code 336212 (truck trailer manufacturing) with a size standard of 1,000 employees. According to the Q&A document, this is not a recompete or follow-on situation but rather a supplemental purchase to a previous order (140L3725P0056) for additional similar quantities. The solicitation does not specify award values or budget ranges, but requires firm-fixed-price quotes that must be itemized to include unit price per trailer (without graphics), graphics price per trailer, and delivery price per trailer, with the total quote being the sum of these prices multiplied by seven units. The government reserves the right to adjust the quantity by one unit if necessary, and the award will be made to the responsible firm submitting the lowest-priced, technically acceptable quote. Performance will occur with delivery to the National Interagency Fire Center facility in Boise, Idaho, with the trailers intended for fire support operations throughout the western United States.
