About this opportunity
The Special Notice announces a virtual NESDIS Community Day event hosted by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). The event will provide an overview and update on NOAA's NESDIS Commercial Data Program (CDP) and the General Request for Information (G-RFI) process that was released in December 2023.
The purpose of the Community Day is to share information on the G-RFI process, outcomes, and how NESDIS is using the results to support NOAA's observational requirements. The event will cover the objectives and future plans of the NESDIS CDP, including operational data purchases and data pilot projects. The virtual event is scheduled for September 26, 2024 from 1-2:30pm Eastern. Interested parties can register online, and are encouraged to submit questions in advance or during the moderated Q&A session. The Special Notice does not specify any eligibility criteria, but the NESDIS CDP is focused on leveraging commercial data sources to complement NOAA's observational capabilities.
