About this opportunity
The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) has issued a Special Notice announcing virtual Industry Day sessions scheduled for August 15 and August 22, 2025, to discuss Surface Ship Repair Acquisition Contract Strategy Initiatives. The announcement comes from NAVSEA's program office for Acquisition and Contract Strategy (NAVSEA 21C) and serves as a follow-up to industry engagement that occurred during the National Ship Repair Industry Conference on March 27, 2025. The sessions will focus on three specific initiatives: earlier awards for complex CNO availabilities, targeted scope contracts to secure dedicated trade skill resources and materials for high risk systems, and longer term multi-ship contracts for continuous and emergent maintenance. This virtual meeting format is designed to accommodate maximum industry participation and provide updates on initiative progress. Companies interested in participating must register by August 8, 2025 at 12:00 PM EST.
The primary objective of these Industry Day sessions is to provide updates on the three ship repair initiatives, address feedback and questions from the previous industry conference, and create opportunities for further industry input. Companies must submit registration emails to specified points of contact by the August 8 deadline, with different subject line requirements depending on whether they currently hold a NAVSEA Master Ship Repair Agreement (MSRA). Companies without an existing MSRA must provide additional information including a five-page description of their capabilities related to the initiatives and answers to specific questions about their business size, employee count, and website. Eligibility is determined under NAICS code 336611 for Ship Building and Repairing, where small businesses are defined as having 1,300 or fewer employees. The government emphasizes that this is an informational session only and not a request for proposals, with all participation costs borne by the responding companies.
