About this opportunity
The Naval Sea Systems Command is procuring two specialized precision measurement instruments through a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items. The procurement includes one Pratt & Whitney LMU1000M Labmaster Universal Supermicrometers and one Pratt & Whitney LMM-1219 Laser Measuring Machine Supermicrometers for Navy and Marine Corps calibration laboratories. These instruments will be used to calibrate master gage blocks, thread rings, thread plugs, thread wires, and pin gages as part of the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) Metrology and Calibration (METCAL) Program. Offerors must be Original Equipment Manufacturers, authorized dealers, distributors, or resellers and must provide proof of authorization from the OEM at the time of offer submission. The government will award to the responsible offeror whose offer conforms to requirements and is most advantageous based on a Lowest Price Technically Acceptable evaluation method, and quotes are due by September 15, 2025.
This procurement does not utilize any set-aside designations and is open to all responsible sources registered in SAM. The solicitation specifies an all-or-none requirement with partial quotes deemed unresponsive, and the contract will be awarded as a single Firm Fixed Price purchase order. The procurement includes extensive accessories for each instrument along with factory set-up and training services, with a 60-day delivery requirement following award. Performance will occur in Okinawa, Japan, with one instrument designated for the Navy Calibration Laboratory at Futenma, Kadena Air Base, and the other for the Marine Corps Air Station Calibration Laboratory at Iwakuni. The government previously conducted market research through a Sources Sought Notice posted from March 11-24, 2025, to identify technically capable companies for this specialized calibration equipment procurement.
