About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Air Force Sustainment Center, specifically Hill Air Force Base, is soliciting calibration services for National Instruments (NI) Peripheral Component Interconnect (PCI) eXtensions for Instrumentation (PXI) equipment used in fielded Solar Radio Spectrograph (SRS) systems maintained by the 519 SWES/SEON program. The contractor must provide compliant calibration certificates for eight units of NI High Frequency Hardware and eight units of NI RF Analyzer/Generator PXIE 5667 equipment, with all calibration certificates required within 30 days of receiving the hardware. Key requirements include arranging pre-paid shipping for equipment destined for overseas locations (Hawaii, Italy, and Australia), safeguarding all government-owned equipment, and obtaining written approval before performing any repairs or modifications. The government will evaluate proposals using Lowest Price Technically Acceptable (LPTA) criteria, considering both technical capability and price. Responses are due by 1500 Mountain Daylight Time on February 23, 2026, with questions required to be submitted by February 17, 2026.
This procurement is issued as a Small Business Set-Aside under NAICS code 334515 with a 750-employee size standard, and the government will award a Firm Fixed Price contract under FAR Part 12 (Commercial Items) and FAR 13 (Simplified Acquisition Procedures). The current performer appears to be National Instruments Corporation Inc., which will provide calibration services at its facility. The period of performance extends from February 12, 2026 to February 11, 2027, allowing one year for delivery of equipment from government facilities to the contractor and 30 days for return shipment. Equipment will be returned to three separate geographical locations: Hill Air Force Base in Utah, Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam in Hawaii, and Sagamore Hill Observatory in Hamilton, Massachusetts, with the primary place of performance at National Instruments Corporation Inc. facilities. No specific budget range is disclosed in the solicitation notice, and all equipment shipping and return costs are the contractor's responsibility.
