About this opportunity

The Drug Enforcement Administration issued a sole-source justification notice on July 7, 2026 for NASCAR sponsorship services, with a capability statement deadline of July 10, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. EST. The DEA intends to award a firm-fixed-price purchase order to Nexstar Media, Inc. for a one-year period (July 7, 2026 through July 6, 2027) in support of the Fentanyl Free America initiative. The justification rests on the unique combination of existing infrastructure: a branded No. 99 Chevrolet vehicle already bearing the Fentanyl Free America campaign identity, established on-track performance credentials, and exclusive media integration with The CW Network, which broadcasts to an average national audience exceeding 1.2 million viewers per race. Market research determined no other racing team or media platform can replicate this existing brand presence, broadcast integration, and infrastructure within the required 2026 season timeframe. The contracting officer certified that only one source is reasonably available and that competition is not practicable given time-sensitive mission objectives. The acquisition falls under NAICS 516120 (Television Broadcasting Stations) and PSC R701 (Support—Management: Advertising). Any contractor with capability statements may submit electronically to Ms. Angel Barkley at angel.d.barkley@dea.gov by the deadline; the Government reserves discretion to pursue competitive procurement based on responses received.
