About this opportunity
NASA's Stennis Space Center (SSC) has published a Special Notice seeking Multi-Stage Liquid Oxygen (LOX) Pressure Control Valves through a sole source acquisition from Gosco Valves, a division of GGOSCO Engineering Inc. The procurement is classified under NAICS 332911 (Industrial Valve Manufacturing) and PSC 4820 (Valves, Nonpowered). NASA intends to acquire these items as commercial products under FAR Part 12 authority, citing that only one responsible source can satisfy the agency's requirements under FAR 6.103-1. The valves are subject to the World Trade Organization Government Procurement Agreement and applicable Free Trade Agreements. This Special Notice was posted on March 16, 2026, and represents a civilian federal contracting opportunity through the National Aeronautics and Space Administration.
The Special Notice's primary objective is to provide interested organizations with an opportunity to demonstrate their capabilities and qualifications to produce the specified LOX pressure control valves, with the Government reserving the right to conduct this acquisition on a competitive basis if warranted by submitted responses. Interested contractors must submit their capabilities and qualifications electronically to Rachel Clayton at Rachel.Clayton@NASA.gov no later than 3:00 pm CST on March 31, 2026. The Government will evaluate submissions solely to determine whether competitive acquisition is appropriate, though the final decision to compete remains entirely within Government discretion. Prospective contractors need not meet specific set-aside requirements, as no set-aside has been designated for this procurement. The valves required are two hydraulically-actuated ball valves designed for extreme cryogenic service, featuring specialized materials including A286 ball trim, INCONEL 718 stems, and stainless steel bodies rated for 8,500 psig operation at temperatures as low as -320°F, with comprehensive LOX cleaning, testing, and documentation requirements specified in the accompanying technical data sheet and Statement of Work.
