About this opportunity

Naval Air Systems Command awarded a sole-source undefinitized contract action (UCA N0001926C1024) to Lockheed Martin Corp on September 30, 2026, for software development, formal qualification testing, integrated test and evaluation, and technical field support for the Multi-Domain Combat System (MDCX) supporting the MQ-25 test program, with an undefinitized value of $57.71 million.

The award was made under 10 U.S.C. 3204(a)(1), with the Navy determining that Lockheed Martin, as the sole designer, developer, and manufacturer of the MDCX, is the only responsible source capable of delivering the system without delay to meet the Navy's Master Aviation Plan to field MQ-25 capability by 2027. A Waiver of DFARS PGI 206.302-1 was signed April 11, 2025. The FAR 5.201(b) notice of intent to award sole-source was published June 9, 2025 on SAM.gov; two Requests for Information were received. The Contracting Officer determined the anticipated cost fair and reasonable. No set-aside was used.
