About this opportunity
The US Army Corps of Engineers Seattle District is seeking a contractor to replace an outdated water control structure at the Mud Mountain Dam Lower Cascade Creek Water Control Facility. This Invitation for Bid (IFB) addresses critical infrastructure needs resulting from a 2009 flood event that compromised the existing water control structure. The contractor will be responsible for providing all necessary personnel, equipment, materials, and supervision to complete the project as specified in the Statement of Work (SOW). The solicitation requires the contractor to meet stringent environmental standards and perform repairs to prevent future flooding and erosion issues. The contract opportunity is posted on November 5, 2024, with proposals due by December 20, 2024, giving potential bidders approximately 45 days to prepare and submit their responses.
The solicitation does not have a specific set-aside designation, allowing open competition for qualified contractors in the heavy and civil engineering construction sector (NAICS 237990). The project will be executed at the Mud Mountain Dam location, focusing on the Lower Cascade Creek water control facility. While specific award values are not disclosed in the solicitation, the complexity of replacing a water control structure suggests a significant infrastructure investment. The project scope involves comprehensive reconstruction of the water control structure, addressing historical flooding and erosion challenges. Potential contractors will need to demonstrate expertise in civil engineering, water control infrastructure, and environmental compliance to be competitive in this federal contract opportunity.
