About this opportunity

The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Troop Support is seeking contractors for the Medical/Surgical Prime Vendor (MSPV) Program Generation VI, which will provide comprehensive medical and surgical supply distribution services to military treatment facilities, clinics, and operational customers worldwide. This procurement covers a full range of commercially available off-the-shelf medical/surgical supplies and small medical equipment across three global regions: North, South, and West. The agency plans to award Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) Firm Fixed Price contracts to primary and backup prime vendors for each region, with vendors authorized to distribute specific medical surgical products under designated pricing instruments. The tentative solicitation release date is September 9, 2025, with proposal submissions due December 16, 2025, and a vendor pre-proposal conference scheduled for October 7, 2025. The supported supply classes include medical instruments, surgical dressings, drugs, medical equipment, hospital clothing, and safety equipment, with ordering conducted directly through prime vendors or DLA's internal web order interface.

This acquisition is designated as unrestricted with no set-aside provisions, making it open to all qualified contractors regardless of business size or socioeconomic status. The contract structure includes a base period of thirty months with three additional thirty-month option periods available, potentially extending the total performance period to ten years. Each of the three global regions may be supported by both a primary and backup prime vendor, creating multiple award opportunities within the program structure. The MSPV program serves as the primary distribution channel for medical supply procurement and delivery to support Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps, and several federal agencies worldwide. No current incumbent contractors or specific award values were disclosed in this pre-solicitation notice, though the global scope and extended timeline indicate this will be a substantial procurement opportunity for medical supply distributors.
