About this opportunity

The U.S. Department of State's Embassy in Bridgetown, Barbados is seeking a food service contractor to provide comprehensive Marine Security Guard (MSG) Cook Services. The solicitation requires a contractor to develop and execute a 20-day menu cycle, prepare and serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner for 7-10 Marines daily at the Marine Security Guard Residence. The government intends to award the contract to the responsible company submitting the lowest-priced, technically acceptable offer, with the potential for award without further discussions. All quotations must be submitted electronically to Bridgetownprocurement@state.gov by April 22, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. local time, with all questions required to be submitted in writing by April 4, 2025. The proposal must be in English, submitted in MS-Word, MS-Excel, or PDF format, and cannot exceed 30MB in file size.

The contract is not set aside for any specific category of businesses and will be performed in Barbados. The initial contract period is one year, with two potential one-year option periods available. The contractor must provide all necessary personnel, comply with food safety standards, and meet strict requirements for food quality, preparation, service, and cleanliness. The scope includes menu planning, food sourcing, meal preparation, staffing, and quality management for the Marine Security Guard team. While specific award value is not detailed in the solicitation, the contract involves daily meal preparation for a small group of Marines, suggesting a modest but consistent service requirement. The successful vendor will need to demonstrate capabilities in institutional food service, with particular attention to dietary accommodations, food storage protocols, employee health standards, and comprehensive quality control measures.
