About this opportunity
The National Institutes of Health Clinical Center is conducting a total small business set-aside procurement for MRI infusion pumps to activate the new CC PICU, with a response deadline of September 26, 2026. The government intends to award a firm-fixed-price contract at an estimated value of $980,137.69 for non-magnetic infusion pumps that operate safely in MRI magnetic fields. A JOFOC justifying sole-source procurement to Iradimed has been posted; the government's market research, including Google searches, medical literature review, and ECRI product comparisons, found no competing FDA-approved MRI infusion pump manufacturers. The Clinical Center has standardized on Iradimed equipment across multiple institutes, and continuation delivers operational benefits including single service contracts, reduced IT and training burden, streamlined supply chain, and elimination of incompatible equipment risks. The contracting officer determined pricing fair and reasonable based on prior contract data and industry research. Delivery is anticipated within eight weeks of award. The government commits to reassessing future market opportunities as the industry evolves toward standardized interfaces and plug-and-play medical equipment solutions.
Notice text
The purpose of this requirement is to provide a fixed-price contract to buy MRI Infusion pumps for the activation of the new CC PICU.
An MRI infusion pump is a medical device designed to administer intravenous (IV) fluids, medications, or anesthetics at a controlled rate while a patient undergoes an MRI scan. Unlike standard infusion pumps, MRI infusion pumps are non-magnetic, allowing them to operate safely in the strong magnetic field
