About this opportunity

The U.S. Coast Guard Surface Forces Logistics Center is seeking sources for Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) Motoren-und Turbinen-Union (MTU) 20V4000M93L engine parts and component overhauls for the 154' Sentinel class Patrol Boat, Fast Response Cutter (FRC). This market survey and sources sought notice is designed to identify vendors capable of providing genuine MTU parts for a five-year requirements contract with one-year ordering periods. Vendors must legally possess all MTU technical publications and demonstrate the ability to provide OEM parts with no aftermarket alternatives. Evaluation criteria will include the vendor's intention to bid as a prime contractor, submission of DUNS number and business size status, potential subcontracting possibilities, and evidence of core exchange programs for components. Responses are due by March 3, 2025, at 4:00 PM EST, with submissions to be sent to Yaisa Goodwin at the USCG Surface Forces Logistics Center in Baltimore.

The procurement is designated as an 8(a) Sole Source contract under NAICS category 333618 (Other Engine Equipment Manufacturing), with a specific focus on engine equipment and components. Vendors must provide at least two references demonstrating relevant experience with similar OEM engine parts and overhaul services. While specific award values are not disclosed in the pre-solicitation notice, the requirement encompasses parts and components for multiple patrol boats, suggesting a potentially significant contract opportunity. The contract will span five one-year ordering periods, indicating a sustained need for these specialized MTU engine parts. Potential vendors should be prepared to provide comprehensive documentation proving their capability to meet the U.S. Coast Guard's strict requirements for genuine OEM parts and component overhaul services.
