About this opportunity
The Naval Supply Systems Command intends to solicit supplies under total small business set-aside authority, with a 45-day response window closing August 28, 2026. The procurement covers an electrical motor (NSN 7H-6105-015957397-X5, TDP VER 003) in a quantity of two units, to be delivered to DLA Distribution Norfolk, Virginia.
The Government has declared sole-source intent under FAR 6.302-1, citing data rights restrictions and economic infeasibility of reverse engineering. However, all responsible sources may submit proposals, quotations, or capability statements within the 45-day notice period. If an award is issued under an existing Basic Ordering Agreement, the response window compresses to 30 days. The Government will consider all timely submissions solely to determine whether to conduct a competitive procurement; a decision not to compete remains within Government discretion.
Interested vendors may identify capability to fulfill the requirement with a commercial item within 15 days of notice publication. The Government is not applying FAR Part 12 commercial-item policies to this solicitation based on market research findings.
