About this opportunity

The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking sources for a Motor Assembly (Blower) with National Stock Number 7H-6105-015098978, specifically for repair and modification. The Navy currently lacks the technical data necessary to produce this item and has determined it to be a sole-source procurement. Potential vendors must be certified as a Depot Overhaul Point (DOP) and must complete a Source Approval Request (SAR)-Maritime to be considered. The technical review will be conducted by the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) In-Service Engineering Activity, which will assess manufacturing capabilities. Interested companies must submit their capability statements or proposals within 45 days of the publication date, with the understanding that remanufactured, surplus, or repair offers will be deemed non-responsive.

The procurement does not have a specific set-aside designation and will be evaluated under FAR 6.302-1 authority for single-source procurement. The contract involves four (4) units to be delivered FOB Origin, with potential applicability under Free Trade Agreements and Buy American Act provisions. While no specific award value is disclosed, vendors must meet qualification requirements at the time of award in accordance with FAR clause 52.209-1. The procurement process may be lengthy, as NAVSEA will conduct a comprehensive technical review of potential sources. The solicitation indicates that commercial item solutions may be considered, with interested parties having 15 days to identify alternative approaches that could satisfy the government's requirements.
