About this opportunity

Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime (DLA) intends to solicit an alternating current motor (NSN 6105-01-547-0705) with a sources-sought response deadline of August 20, 2026; the procurement is not set-aside and anticipates direct award to an approved source.

L3Harris Maritime Power & Energy (CAGE 3FEQ2, part numbers 709056-102 and PL708656) is the currently approved sole source. The motor requires engineering source approval by the design control activity to maintain part quality. L3Harris retains data rights, manufacturing knowledge, and technical data not economically available to the Government; this knowledge is essential to sustaining part quality. An alternate source may qualify only through the design control activity's Government-approved procedures.

DLA seeks to identify any additional sources capable of manufacturing this item. Alternate sources must qualify per the design control activity's procedures as approved by the cognizant Government engineering activity having jurisdiction over the part. If one source remains approved, AMC 3, 4, or 5 designations are valid; if two or more sources are approved or if engineering data permits qualification of an alternate source, AMC 1 or 2 designations are valid. All deliveries will be made to DLA Depots. Potential sources should submit information by August 20, 2026, to Contract Specialist Daniel West (Daniel.West@dla.mil). Project numbers referenced are CM26070006 and CM2616101.
