About this opportunity

The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking to procure three units of a specific motor (NSN 7H-6105-012748862) with Technical Data Package (TDP) Version 008, to be delivered FOB Origin. The solicitation is primarily a non-competitive procurement under FAR 6.302-1, indicating the government intends to negotiate with a single source. Interested firms are invited to submit their capabilities, quotes, or proposals within 45 days of the publication date (or 30 days if awarded under an existing Basic Ordering Agreement). All responding firms must include their CAGE Code, and the award will only be made if the offeror, product, service, or manufacturer meets the specific qualification requirements at the time of award. The government has determined that purchasing data rights or reverse engineering the part would be uneconomical, and they are not utilizing FAR Part 12 policies for commercial item acquisition.

The pre-solicitation notice does not indicate a specific set-aside designation, and no incumbent contractors are mentioned. The total quantity is three motor units, with a delivery requirement of FOB Origin. The solicitation is potentially subject to Free Trade Agreements, specifically those covered by DFARS clauses 252.225-7036 and 252.225-7021, which could impact procurement considerations. Interested parties have 15 days to identify their capability to satisfy the requirement with a commercial item. The contract opportunity was posted on December 28, 2024, with a response due date of January 7, 2025. While no specific budget range is provided, the procurement is for a specialized motor in the Motors, Electrical product service category (PSC 6105-P), suggesting a potentially precise and technical procurement process.
