About this opportunity

The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking to procure two units of a specific motor (NSN 7H-6105-014365751-E3) with Technical Data Package (TDP) Version 008. The procurement will be conducted under a non-competitive solicitation using FAR 6.302-1 authority, which allows for single-source negotiation. The government has determined it is uneconomical to purchase data rights or reverse engineer the part, thus limiting potential sources. Interested contractors have 45 days from the May 16, 2024 publication date to submit proposals, capability statements, or expressions of interest. The delivery will be FOB Origin, and while the notice invites potential sources to demonstrate capability, the government retains sole discretion in determining whether to proceed competitively.

No specific set-aside designations are applied to this contract opportunity. The procurement involves a small quantity of two motor units, with the government explicitly stating they do not currently own the technical data or rights necessary for broader sourcing. While a precise award value is not specified, the contract appears focused on a targeted repair or modification requirement. The solicitation remains open until December 11, 2024, providing an extended window for potential contractors to respond. The Naval Supply Systems Command, a Defense agency, will evaluate responses with the primary goal of securing a suitable source for the specialized motor repair or modification needs.
