About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Materiel Command, Nuclear Weapons Center is soliciting quotes for a single Mechanical Assist Mobile System (6' x 14.5' x 8.67') with on-site installation at Kirtland Air Force Base, with proposals due September 10, 2026 at 1000 hours MDT (amended from the original August 7 deadline). The procurement is set aside 100% for small business competition under NAICS 332510 (Hardware Manufacturing) with a 750-employee size standard.
Place of performance is 2000 Wyoming Boulevard SE, Albuquerque, New Mexico 87123. The system must comprise 10 sections with 6 shelves each (60 total shelves of equal size), with each shelf rated to support 400 pounds. All equipment must be new, heavy-duty, commercial-grade suitable for high-volume military use. The contractor must incorporate minimum dual safety mechanisms—one primary built into the design and one external secondary—to prevent shelves from rolling off the rail. Delivery is F.O.B. Destination with full installation, assembly, calibration, and preparation for immediate use required within 60 days of order receipt. The contractor must provide standard commercial warranty covering parts and labor for defects in material and workmanship, obtain all necessary base access credentials, coordinate delivery at least 72 hours in advance, and remove all shipping materials and debris.
The installation facility operates 24/7 with vehicle access accommodating large trailers, approximately 500 feet between delivery point and installation area, and 6,000-pound forklift availability. Removal of existing equipment is excluded from scope. Evaluation is based on technical acceptability (acceptable/unacceptable) followed by price fairness and reasonableness, with the lowest-priced technically acceptable offer receiving award. Questions are due September 2, 2026. This is a firm fixed-price acquisition under FAR Subpart 12.2 for commercial products and services.
