About this opportunity

The 56th Contracting Squadron, Air Education and Training Command, is conducting market research via RFI to identify potential sources for a FARO 3D laser scanner, with responses due by August 27, 2026, 10:00 AM Eastern Time. This is a sources-sought notice only and does not obligate contract award or payment of proposal costs; responses will inform the Government's determination of potential set-aside eligibility.

The Government seeks a FARO Focus Core tripod-mounted laser scanner to replace legacy FARO S150 equipment and enhance infrastructure maintenance and preservation capabilities at the installation. Required capabilities include hybrid reality capture with flash technology, laser-illuminated HDR 13MP imaging, high-resolution panocam attachment, dual-axis compensator, internal compass and height sensor, operational temperature range of –10°C to +40°C, on-site registration and stream app functionality, and ruggedized hard case for transport. The scanner must achieve 100 percent compatibility with existing government software (FARO Scene and FARO As-Built) with native processing and auto-classification capability. The vendor must provide a five-year comprehensive warranty including parts, labor, and annual cleaning and system calibration, plus trade-in credit for the S150 scanner, FARO Free Style 2, and FARO Scan Plan.

Interested vendors must submit electronic responses identifying firm information, business size and applicable SBA certifications, sourcing capability, and calendar days required to respond to RFQ. Responses should be directed to Carter Woodward at carter.woodward@us.af.mil. Vendors may request anonymized posting of questions and Government responses on FedBizOpps and GSA.
