About this opportunity

The United States Coast Guard Aviation Logistics Center is conducting market research to identify sources capable of manufacturing a Mobile Dehumidification Unit (MDU) to support MH-60T, MH-65E, and C-144 aircraft platforms, with responses due by June 30, 2026.

This is a Request for Information only; no solicitation currently exists and the Government is not accepting unsolicited proposals at this time. The RFI is intended to assess market availability and inform a future procurement.

The MDU must deliver 300 cubic feet per minute of processed air and reduce relative humidity within aircraft to 30–40% within one hour, maintaining that level automatically for a minimum of eight hours daily regardless of ambient conditions. The unit requires electric reactivation capability, closed-loop operation with neoprene-gasketed doors and access panels, and maximum noise output of 85 decibels at zero feet. The MDU must mount on a mobile roll-around pushcart with handle and parking brake, with maximum dimensions of 72 inches (H) × 33 inches (W) × 72 inches (L), enabling passage through standard industrial personnel hangar doors. Dock and undock capability must be achievable in five minutes or less.

The unit must support dual electrical standards: 208–240vac/3ph/60hz and 440–480vac/3ph/60hz at 60 amps maximum. It requires UL or ETL listing for indoor use and NFPA Class I, Division 2 compliance with all electrical components mounted above 18 inches from floor level. Additional specifications include a 50-foot SOOW power cable (expandable to 100 feet), white polyurethane coating per mil-prf-85285, tropical rust proofing, and a grounding reel with 100 feet of 3/32-inch cable.

NAICS 333415 applies; small business threshold is 1,250 employees. PSC 4440 codes the requirement.
