About this file
This is a Sources Sought Notice for a Mobile Dehumidification Unit (MDU) issued under solicitation number 70Z03826IE0000007.
The MDU must deliver 300 cubic feet per minute of processed air and reduce relative humidity within aircraft to 30-40% within one hour, maintaining that level automatically regardless of ambient conditions for a minimum of eight hours daily. The unit requires electric reactivation capability, closed-loop operation, neoprene-gasketed doors and access panels, and must operate at a maximum of 85 decibels at zero feet. The MDU must mount on a mobile roll-around pushcart with handle and parking brake, with maximum dimensions of 72 inches (H) x 33 inches (W) x 72 inches (L), enabling passage through standard industrial personnel hangar doors. The unit must include storage enclosure for duct and adapters plus power cord hanger and feature standard 8-inch process air inlet and outlet with optional 4-inch reducer, achieving dock/undock capability in five minutes or less. The MDU must support dual electrical standards: 208-240vac/3ph/60hz and 440-480vac/3ph/60hz at 60 amps maximum, with UL or ETL listing for indoor use and NFPA Class I, Division 2 compliance with all electrical components mounted above 18 inches from floor level.
Additional requirements include a standard 50-foot SOOW power cable (expandable to 100 feet optionally), white polyurethane coating meeting mil-prf-85285, tropical rust proofing covering exterior seams, welds, and dissimilar metal contacts, a grounding reel with 100 feet of 3/32-inch cable with alligator or hand grip clip, and a permanent corrosion-resistant ID plate containing nomenclature, manufacturer information, CAGE code, serial number, and contract number. The unit must withstand commercial transport via trailer, train, and marine vessel without damage or permanent deformation and include securely attached instruction, warning, and caution plates.

Mobile Dehumidification Unit (MDU) Sources Sought Notice
70Z03826IE0000007
Specifications
The requested MDU must meet the minimum technical and operational requirements outlined in the table below:
Requirement Category
Specific Details / Parameters
Performance & Airflow
300 cubic feet per minute (CFM) of processed MDU air. Reduces relative humidity (RH) within aircraft to 30-40% within 1 hour. Automatically regulates supplied RH air regardless of ambient temp/humidity once docked. Achieves 30-40% RH for a minimum of 8 hours per day. Test ports for process airflow required.
System Operation
Electric reactivation of dehumidifier. Closed loop system. Doors and access panels gasketed with neoprene. Maximum 85 decibels
(db) @ 0 feet while operating.
Mobility & Dimensions
Unit mounted on a mobile roll-around pushcart with handle/handrail. Maximum dimensions: 72 inches (H) x 33 inches
(W) x 72 inches (L). Must enter through standard industrial personnel hangars doors. Parking brake(s) required.
Storage Features Enclosure for duct and adapter storage. Power Cord hangar for storage/movement.
Electrical & Safety
Rated for indoor environment/use. UL or ETL listed/approved electrical equipment. All electrical components/connections mounted above 18 inches from floor level for use in NFPA Class I, Div. 2 environments (compliant with NFPA 70, Art. 513 and NFPA 505, Chap. 4).
Power Requirements
Must support two standards: 1.) 208-240vac/3ph/60hz 2.) 440- 480vac/3ph/60hz @ 60 amps maximum.
Power Cable Standard: 50 feet (SOOW - service, oil resistant conductors, oil resistant jacket, water resistant) power cable (bare end; no plug). Option: Increase to 100 feet (SOOW) power cable based on location. (Note: CG will provide/install the power cord plug upon delivery).
Inlets & Interface
Standard 8-inch process air inlet and outlet. Optional reducer from 8-inch to 4-inch hoses. Dock/undock in 5 minutes or less (achieved via CG-supplied Aircraft Interface Adapters). (Note: Hoses and AIAs will be supplied by CG at delivery).
Paint & Coating Cart painted white polyurethane coating (17925, mil-prf- 85285). Controls/components can use standard commercial practices/coatings. The cart shall be primed and painted using standard commercial practices using commercially available coatings and shall conform to coating manufacturer’s guidelines.
The finish shall show no evidence of uneven application, curtains, runs, snags, orange peel, lack of adhesion, or other defects.
Rust Proofing Tropical rust proofing (premium package/corrosion preventative compound) required due to high humidity/salt spray. Must cover:
Exterior, seams, welds, hidden recessed areas, and dissimilar metal contacts.
Grounding Grounding reel with 100 feet of 3/32 inch cable with mounted alligator or hand grip clip.
Transportability Capable of transport by commercial trailers, trains, and marine vessels. Must withstand impact forces encountered in shipment without damage or permanent deformation.
Markings & Plates
Securely attached instruction, warning, and caution plates. Permanent corrosion-resistant ID plate containing:
Nomenclature, MFR Part #, MFR Model #, MFR Serial #, MFR Name, CAGE Code, MFR Address, MFR Service Phone #, Date of Manufacture, and Contract #.
