About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy Naval Sea Systems Command is conducting an industry day to facilitate discussion and information exchange regarding MK 41 VLS Launcher Production. This pre-solicitation notice is not a formal solicitation but rather an opportunity for interested contractors to engage with Navy personnel, tour the Surface Weapons Engineering Facility at Naval Surface Warfare Center Port Hueneme Division, and participate in one-on-one meetings with government representatives. The industry day will be held March 10-12, 2026, at NSWC PHD in Port Hueneme, California, with a consolidated main session on March 10 followed by optional one-on-one splinter meetings on any of the three days. Companies interested in attending must RSVP by February 10, 2026, to the identified Navy contacts, providing their company information, preferred days for splinter meetings ranked in order of preference, and an indication of whether they wish to be included on a networking list shared with other attendees. The Navy will notify participating companies of their scheduled one-on-one meeting times by February 18, 2026. Related to this procurement, the Navy has also posted a Request for Information (VLS006A) on SAM.gov, which represents the formal inquiry stage preceding the formal solicitation.
This pre-solicitation notice carries no specific set-aside designation, meaning all eligible contractors may compete. No incumbent contractors or current award values have been identified in the available documentation, as the Navy is still in the exploratory industry day phase prior to formal solicitation release. The procurement falls under NAICS code 336415 (Guided Missile and Space Vehicle Propulsion Unit and Propulsion Unit Parts Manufacturing) and PSC code 1440 (Launchers, Guided Missile), indicating the focus on advanced defense systems manufacturing. The specific quantity, contract duration, and estimated award value have not been disclosed in this pre-solicitation notice, as formal requirements details are expected to emerge following the industry day discussions and the concurrent Request for Information process.
