Update #2 · Latest ·

UPDATE 21 June 2022: Number of attendees per interested party increased to 6.

The MK 41 Vertical Launching System (VLS) Canister Inspection Day is scheduled from 12-14 July 2022 at the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC), Port Hueneme Division (PHD), Port Hueneme, CA. In contrast to the Canister Industry Day held last year, which focused on procurement strategy and a general overview of the requirements, the focus of Canister Inspection Day is to allow interested parties an extended period of time to inspect individual canisters and discuss technical questions with Government representatives. There will not be a general presentation to industry. Therefore, each interested party will only need to visit PHD on the day that their inspection is scheduled.

Interested parties are required to RSVP for Canister Inspection Day by close of business on 27 June 2022 via e-mail to the Mr. David Chamberlain, Procuring Contracting Officer, at david.s.chamberlain5.civ@us.navy.mil or Mr. Scott Quiambao, Contract Specialist, at scott.s.quiambao.civ@us.navy.mil. The interested parties should provide a ranked list of preference for the 3 available days (July 12, 13, 14) for their canister inspection session. The Government will make an effort to schedule the canister inspection session in accordance with that preference to the extent possible. The Government will review all requests and notify industry participants of the schedule by 30 June 2022.

The RSVP shall include the following information:  Subject line: "NAVSEA MK 41 VLS Canister Inspection Day”.  Include the Point-of-Contact's name, telephone number, company, names of the attendees, and specific canister types of interest. Interested parties are limited to six attendees per respondent and participants must follow the latest CDC COVID guidelines. Recording devices are not permitted.

Disclaimer: This notice is for information only and shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government to solicit contractual offers or award contracts. The Government is not soliciting, nor will it accept, proposals as a result of this Canister Inspection Day. The Government will not reimburse the cost of any submission in response to this announcement -- the entire cost of any submission will be at the sole expense of the source submitting the information. The Government will not reimburse respondents for expenditures associated with participation in MK 41 VLS Canister Inspection Day.

If you do not have a CAC, you are required to notify the meeting POC (whom will need to sponsor you on the base) and complete SECNAV 5512-1 (see attached form). Completed SECNAV 5512-1 must be submitted to the meeting POC by 27 June 2022 and bring it with you to the Pass and ID Office (located in BLDG 1183 adjacent to the Sunkist Gate).  This will allow you to obtain a temporary pass on the first day of the meeting to enter the base. Limit six attendees per company.  Vehicles are subject to search and inspection.
