About this opportunity

The Naval Surface Warfare Center Indian Head Division (NSWC IHD) is seeking a small business contractor to manufacture motor tubes for the MK 22 Rocket Motors. The procurement involves fabricating, inspecting, testing, and delivering motor tubes in accordance with specific drawing specifications, with the contractor required to design and provide all necessary tooling for manufacturing and dimensional inspection. The method of source selection will be Lowest Price Technically Acceptable (LPTA), which means the contract will be awarded to the lowest-priced offer that meets all technical requirements. Interested offerors must complete registration in the System for Award Management (SAM) database, with failure to do so rendering them ineligible for contract award. All potential sources are required to submit comprehensive information including organizational details, contact information, business size, tax identification, unique entity ID, and CAGE Code, along with a summary of company capabilities. The submission deadline is January 24, 2025, with all responses to be emailed to Bridget Taylor at bridget.m.taylor.civ@us.navy.mil.

This procurement is designated as a Total Small Business set-aside under NAICS code 332999 (All Other Miscellaneous Fabricated Metal Product Manufacturing) and PSC code 1340 (Rockets, Rocket Ammunition And Rocket Components). While specific award value details are not provided, the contract involves manufacturing motor tubes ready for assembly in rocket motor systems. The contractor will be responsible for creating specialized tooling and providing necessary data to support the production process. Large file submissions must be compressed using Zip format and renamed with a .zip file extension to facilitate electronic transmission. The requirement is being issued by the Department of the Navy Naval Sea Systems Command, indicating this is a defense-related procurement with potential strategic importance for military rocket motor components. No incumbent contractor information is specified in the pre-solicitation notice, suggesting this may be a new procurement or replacement contract.
