About this opportunity

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), operating under the Department of Health and Human Services Office of Acquisition Services, has issued a Special Notice regarding the procurement of Microsoft Azure compute services. The CDC intends to award a sole-source contract to Dell Federal Systems L.P. for the acquisition of Azure compute resources and associated monetary commitments. Dell Federal Systems L.P. has been identified as the only authorized vendor capable of meeting the agency's specific requirements for maintaining compatibility with the CDC's existing Microsoft enterprise environment while ensuring federal security and compliance standards. This procurement falls under NAICS code 518210 (Computing Infrastructure Providers, Data Processing, Web Hosting, and Related Services) and is classified under PSC DK10 (IT and Telecom - Storage as a Service). The procurement is being justified under FAR 6.302-1(b)(1) and 10 U.S.C. 3204(a)(1) authority for sole-source acquisition.

The primary objective of this procurement is to secure Azure compute capacity necessary to support the CDC's mission-critical cloud workloads while ensuring seamless integration with current infrastructure, consistent licensing management, and uninterrupted secure operations. Interested vendors who believe they can meet these requirements must submit a written capability statement to Contract Specialist Ronalda Ohio at uex0@cdc.gov no later than March 19, 2026; verbal requests will not be accepted. Although this notice is not a competitive request for quotations, all capability and pricing information received by the deadline will be evaluated to determine whether competitive procurement is warranted at the Government's sole discretion. The procurement is limited exclusively to Azure compute capacity and associated Azure monetary commitments, with eligibility effectively restricted to vendors authorized to provide these specific services. The Government reserves the right to proceed with the sole-source award to Dell Federal Systems L.P. or to initiate a competitive procurement based on the responses received.
