About this opportunity
The United States Special Operations Command is conducting market research for non-recurring engineering support and development services related to the MH-47G Improved Vibration Control System (IVCS). The Technology Application Program Office (TAPO) seeks to identify potential sources, particularly small business capabilities, for modification trade studies of the existing IVCS system installed on MH-47G Chinook helicopters, including integration and flight testing support. This sources sought notice, issued under FAR Part 10 and DFARS PGI 206.302-1(d), aims to gather information for acquisition planning purposes and development of the acquisition strategy for a potential future Request for Proposal. The government emphasizes that this is strictly a market research effort and no contract will be awarded based on responses to this notice. Interested parties must respond by October 8, 2025, though participation in this sources sought process is voluntary and not required for future solicitation participation.
This opportunity does not utilize any set-aside designations and indicates the government anticipates contracting on a sole source basis with Parker-Lord for the required engineering services. The contract would encompass the full spectrum from development and trade studies through full-scale production of the vibration control system modifications. The opportunity falls under NAICS code 541330 for Engineering Services and PSC code R425 for Professional Engineering/Technical Support. While specific contract values are not disclosed in this pre-solicitation notice, the scope suggests a comprehensive engineering development program that would span from initial design studies through production implementation. The timeline extends beyond the October 8th response deadline, as any formal RFP resulting from this market research would be issued at a later, unspecified date.
