About this opportunity

The Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime seeks quotes for 20 feet of 7-inch round steel bar, in 10-foot segments, with offers due November 5, 2026. No set-aside is used, so the solicitation is open to all responsible sources, and it is a firm fixed price commercial products acquisition under FAR Part 12. The Maritime Puget Sound Contracting Division issues the solicitation, SPMYM227Q01180001, which covers ASTM A36/A36M bar under NSN 9510-LL-S05-4758.

Delivery is F.O.B. Destination to Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton, WA 98314, with a requested delivery date of October 30, 2026. Offerors must hold a current NIST SP 800-171 assessment under DFARS 252.204-7019 if the awardee is required to implement it. COTS items are exempt, but offerors must identify them to the contracting officer during the solicitation period. Other requirements include a mercury exclusion certification, supply chain traceability documentation retained for ten years, item unique identification marking, and packaging and marking to MIL-STD-129. The contractor must also deliver a certification data report of chemical and mechanical properties under CDRL DI-MISC-82386, along with mechanical property test reports for each heat. The government will accept copper-bearing steel as an alternative. Offerors must complete FAR 52.204-24 and 52.209-11 representations.

Quotes go by email to karl.lindley@dla.mil, with a signed and completed solicitation required for responsiveness. The solicitation text cites a return deadline of "Sunday, 28 September 2025 7AM," which conflicts with the November 5, 2026 due date. Invoices are submitted electronically through Wide Area WorkFlow, and the government has a 45-day inspection and constructive acceptance period.
