About this opportunity

This Special Notice is published by the Department of the Navy Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) and pertains to an increase in the contract capacity of a regional Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract for multi-discipline architect-engineering services. The additional capacity of $15 million, from $30 million to $45 million, is required to execute modifications to existing and ongoing task orders for critical projects such as fire protection, HVAC, utility infrastructure, and hangar operations at military installations in the NAVFAC Washington area of responsibility.

The purpose of this Special Notice is to justify and approve the use of other than full and open competition to increase the contract capacity of the existing IDIQ. Procuring these requirements outside the IDIQ is not practical as it would result in delays, cost increases, and potential mission impacts. The Contracting Officer has determined the anticipated cost to be fair and reasonable. NAVFAC Washington is also taking actions to establish new IDIQ contracts to meet future requirements and mitigate the need for capacity increases. There are no specific deadlines, requirements, or eligibility criteria for contractors to participate, as this is a Special Notice rather than a solicitation for new work.
