About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration, specifically Veterans Integrated Service Network 9, is seeking a virtual interactive digital wellness platform for the Memphis VA Medical Center. The platform aims to improve overall wellbeing for veterans and employees by providing access to wellness services like yoga and meditation without requiring additional staff or physical space. The contract's primary objectives include reducing community healthcare seeking, potentially decreasing prescription costs, and building resilience among medical center personnel and veterans. The solicitation will be posted on SAM.gov with a Request for Quotation (RFQ) to be issued on 3/26/2025 and responses due by 04-11-2025. Evaluation criteria will likely focus on the platform's ability to comprehensively address wellness needs, technological capabilities, and alignment with VA health objectives.
The contract is a 100% set-aside for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB) under NAICS code 611620, with a small business size standard of $9.0 Million. Eligible contractors must be verified through SBA's VetCert website, registered in SAM, and meet specific ownership and control requirements. The place of performance will be in Memphis, TN, with the platform designed to serve all veterans and employees at Lt. Col. Luke Weathers Jr VA Medical Center, regardless of their chronic condition status. While specific award value is not detailed, the contract appears focused on providing a subscription-based wellness platform that can be implemented without additional infrastructure investments. The platform's potential impact includes reducing employee burnout, increasing productivity, decreasing turnover, and providing alternative wellness interventions for veterans seeking complementary healthcare services.
Notice text
Lt. Col. Luke Weathers Jr VA Medical Center has an essential need for an interactive and digital platform aimed at improving overall wellbeing. This platform would fill an unmet need by improving access without the need for new staff or use of onsite designated space at Lt. Col. Luke Weathers Jr VA Medical Center. It will reduce Veterans seeking Complementary and Integrative Health care in the community. For medical center employees, using these modalities is aimed to help reduce burnout, increase productivity, and decrease turnover. Consistent yoga and/or mediation practice can have an impact on the perception of pain, and therefore reduce prescription costs or unnecessary appointments at Lt. Col. Luke Weathers Jr VA Medical Center. At this moment, Yoga and Taichi groups are being provided at the Lt. Col. Luke Weathers Jr VA Medical Center for only Veterans with pain but due to staffing and space challenges unable to meet the demand. These services are not available for all other Veterans whose overall wellbeing would be improved by participating. These wellness services will build resilience and encourage health among Lt. Col. Luke Weathers Jr VA Medical Center employees and Veterans regardless of what chronic conditions they may have or have not. The purpose of this contract is to provide a virtual wellbeing platform subscription, which covers all Veterans and Employees of Lt. Col. Luke Weathers Jr VA Medical Center. 100% SDVOSB SET-ASIDE details in attachment.
