About this opportunity

The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking to procure a Memory Unit, Data ST with National Stock Number 0R-7025-017091872-P8, with a quantity of 5 units to be delivered FOB Origin. The procurement is a pre-solicitation notice for a complex technical component with significant engineering challenges, as the current design is considered unstable and requires major configuration changes. Potential vendors must obtain Government source approval prior to contract award, as the item is flight-critical and requires extensive technical validation. Interested parties must submit detailed technical information using the NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support Source Approval Information Brochures, and only previously approved sources are being solicited. All proposals must be submitted within 45 days of the notice's publication, with the government retaining sole discretion to determine competitive procurement approach.

The pre-solicitation notice indicates no specific set-aside designation and does not identify incumbent contractors. While specific award values are not disclosed, the procurement appears to be for a specialized, potentially high-value military component. The contract will be solicited on a sole-source basis, with interested parties required to demonstrate technical capability and source approval within 15 days of the notice. The procurement is subject to Free Trade Agreements and potentially the Buy American Act, depending on final solicitation clauses. Vendors must be prepared to provide comprehensive technical documentation and have prior government approval for manufacturing the specified memory unit. The target timeline suggests a potential contract award by June 9, 2025, with the government prioritizing fleet support needs over extended source approval processes.
