About this opportunity

The Defense Health Agency (DHA) Enterprise Medical Services Contracting Division has issued a Special Notice regarding the modification of existing Medical Support Services (MSS) Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contracts. The notice intends to extend the current ordering period for seven months, until October 31, 2025, for medical support services across Department of Defense Military Treatment Facilities. This extension covers facilities within the 50 United States, District of Columbia, Guam, and Puerto Rico. The modification is a result of delays in awarding the Medical "Q" Coded Support and Services-Next Generation (MQS2-NG) Small Business set-aside acquisition. The notice specifically combines the current MSS and Medical Q-Coded Services programs under a single contract extension.

The purpose of this extension is to ensure continued non-personal medical support services that supplement medical staff with credentialed and non-credentialed health care workers. The extension will involve 26 existing contractors and covers labor categories including clerical, certified, specialized, and technical support services. Contractors should note that this is a no-cost modification, with the program ceiling remaining unchanged and all task order performances set to end on or before July 24, 2028. The opportunity is set aside for small businesses and is not a competitive proposal request. Importantly, the contract modification is being pursued under the authority of FAR 6.302, with the government retaining sole discretion on whether to proceed with the modification. Responses to this notice will not be considered, and the extension is meant to bridge the gap until the new acquisition program can be implemented.
