Notice text
This effort is in response to Air Force Form 1067 #17004, MC-130J /EC-130J JTWS-Air 2 Equipment Mounting Rack. The requirement is for the design, kit fabrication, and engineering documentation efforts to upgrade the current MC-130J/EC-130J seat rail at the forward-right position. The current JTWS-Air 2 configuration requires the system to be strapped to the floor, taking up valuable cargo space, as well as, blocking the critical egress path out of the forward right emergency exit; both limiting factors result in un-executable missions. The upgraded seat rail requirement is needed to accommodate the weight of a fuselage mounted JTWS-Air 2 system which will eliminate these space and egress issues while providing Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC) the ability to execute their full mission set. This upgraded capability will be utilized on 47 MC-130J and eight (8) EC-130J aircraft.
