The project involves repairing and replacing natural gas distribution infrastructure, including cutting and capping existing steel lines, installing new poly and steel lines, and managing utility crossings at multiple base locations. Technical drawings indicate complex infrastructure work, including running new lines to Housing Office and Housing Maintenance facilities, and carefully navigating existing underground communication conduits and fiber optic/copper cable networks. The project requires precise utility coordination, with specific construction specifications mandating minimum 12-inch vertical clearance when new gas lines intersect existing underground utilities. While an exact timeline is not specified, the procurement process is actively moving forward with the sources sought notice posted on April 14, 2025, and response deadline set for April 25, 2025.
